Dear Friend,

For many of us, our years spent in Jewish and, in particular, Yiddishist, youth movements and summer camps are among our fondest memories. Some of us have even remained lifelong friends with our movement khaverim or bunkmates and counselors. 

Our next issue of Afn Shvel will explore the phenomenon of Jewish youth movements, from cultural Yiddishist to Bundist to Zionist, and everything in between, focusing on how they instilled in us a love for Yiddish and the Jewish People. Essays, reminiscences, historical articles and photographs will peel back the layers of our experiences, revealing new insights about a world that many of us intensely inhabited, as well as its future prospects.
