  “Yiddish Today” is a series of video programs that present artists, researchers, and cultural activists from around the world who are creating contemporary Yiddish culture.

  Watch this conversation (in Yiddish) between Eli Benedict and Izzy Posen, Hear about his YouTube channel where he has a series about physics and science in Yiddish. We will also discuss his leaving the Hasidic community and his current relationship with that community.

  Izzy Posen was born in Stamford Hill, London, to a Hasidic Satmar family. He studied in the cheyter and yeshive, and then continued in the academy. Izzy studied physics and philosophy, and completed his master’s degree in physics at Bristol University. Izzy is part of a project that researches “Hasidic-Yiddish” and has a YouTube series, entirely in Yiddish, about physics.
