Sholem-aleykhem! We’ve missed you here at the League for Yiddish! It’s been more than a year since we've heard from you, and we wanted to let you know how important you have been to our mission to keep Yiddish a living, dynamic language.
Your past support has enabled the League for Yiddish to:
• produce our all-Yiddish membership magazine Afn Shvel, which enjoys a global readership;
• hold conferences presenting renowned scholars of Yiddish language and literature;
• commission new Yiddish language readers, which introduce students to our rich traditions of story tellers, from Yitskhok Leybush Peretz to Kadye Molodowsky and even Shimen Dzigan.
The newest issue of Afn Shvel - devoted to Jewish youth movements - will be issued any day now, and we’re quite sure that you’ll want to read it. By renewing your membership at the $50 level or more, you will continue to receive Afn Shvel, as well as discounts on League for Yiddish books, DVDs and CDs, and invitations to participate in an array of online and in-person events all conducted in Yiddish.
