  A conversation (in Yiddish) between Eli Benedict and Dr. Paul (Hershl) Glasser about the early development of Yiddish; the various methods regarding the origin of our language, and the first sources. We also talk about about Dr. Max Weinreich’s theory which has been accepted by most researchers, and about Dr. Glasser’s role in editing Max Weinreich’s translated book “History of the Yiddish Language”.

  Dr. Paul (Hershl) Glasser was born in 1957 in Brooklyn, New York. He is an eminent Yiddish linguist, teacher and translator, and the co-editor of the Comprehensive English-Yiddish Dictionary. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the League for Yiddish and a long-time activist for Yiddish.
