Emil Kalin published his short story “The Revolution,” about the coup d’état in Romania, in “Afn Shvel” (Spring/Summer 2021, #391-392)
Emil Kalin was born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1980. He and his family emigrated to Israel when he was 4 years old and he currently lives in Tel Aviv. He studied computer science at Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he made his first attempts at writing; He subsequently published in the literary magazines “Yerusholayemer Almanakh” (Jerusalem Almanach) and “Gilgulim” (Transformations). Later he published articles and short stories in the “Forverts”.
In 2017 he published his first book of prose, “Shotns afn Trotuar” (Shadows on the Sidewalk). He publishes regularly on the blog “Yiddish-Branzhe” and will soon be publishing his second volume.
