Dr. Yaad Biran was born in 1976. His doctorate deals with the travels of Yiddish writers to Israel. He taught Yiddish language and literature at Haifa, Tel Aviv and Hebrew Universities, as well as Yivo and Beit Shalom Aleichem. He authored a book of stories in Hebrew Litskhok im Letaot (Laughing with Lizards), with Yiddish as the main motif. His series of Yiddish cabarets, Esther’s Cabaret, has been performed throughout Israel.
