The latest issue of Afn Shvel, the membership magazine of the League for Yiddish, is hot off the
press. During this heartbreaking time, as war between Israel and Hamas continues to unfold
with devastating effects, the issue, titled “Shive in oktober/milkhome in land,” presents voices
from diverse backgrounds and sectors which you’ll want to hear during this arduous time.
We appreciate your watching out for this issue, as breaking news from the war’s frontlines
commands so much of our attention. Please don’t miss Editor-in-Chief Miriam Trinh’s special
interviews with IDF reservist Yonatan Alman stationed in the North, and Nihad Dabit, an Israeli
Arab born in Ramla, one of Israel’s mixed cities with significant Jewish and Arab populations.
