Dr. Miriam Trinh is a Researcher, teacher, editor, and cultural activist.
Born in Krakow (Poland), grew up in Germany, immigrated to Israel. She studied philosophy and Yiddish, wrote her master's thesis at the Sorbonne (Paris) and her doctorate – on multilingual poetry in the ghettos and camps – at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Since 1999 she has been teaching Yiddish and Yiddish literature in many places, including: Paris, Oxford, Strasbourg, Trier, Vilnius, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and New York. In 2013-2015 she was a post-doctoral student at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Her research interests are Holocaust literature, mainly in Yiddish, and the multilingual literary response among European Jews to the rise of Nazism.
Miriam serves as the editor-in-chief of our magazine “Afn Shvel.”
