Join us for a Zoom conversation with the devoted Bundist and Yiddish activist
Elliott (Elye) Palevsky
We will talk about his family’s history in Lithuania and then in America, what it was like to grow up in a Bundist home, what it means to be a Bundist today, and what he thinks about the future of the movement. We will also talk about his various roles in Yiddish organizations over the years.

Elliott (Elye) Palevsky was born in New York to a prominent Bundist family from Lithuania. He has been active for decades in various Yiddish organizations in New York, among them: as a culture director at Camp Hemshekh (New York); an board member of the League For Yiddish, and more. He has taught Yiddish language, literature and culture at the Yiddish Institute (Vilnius University), Queens College (New York), and Workmen’s Circle and Sholem Aleichem Schools.
