Justin Jaron Lewis is Associate Professor of Religion at the University of Manitoba. He previously served as a congregational rabbi in Kingston, Ontario. His work ranges across Hasidism, Yiddish, Jewish literature and folklore, religion and sexuality. He is the author of Imagining Holiness: Classic Hasidic Tales in Modern Times and translator of Many Pious Women, praises of Jewish women written in Yiddish in Renaissance Italy. He has published widely on Hasidic tales and related areas of Jewish culture and thought.
