The Beginnings of Yiddish
Join us for a Zoom conversation with the Yiddish researcher
Dr. Paul (Hershl) Glasser
We will talk about the early development of Yiddish; the various methods regarding the origin of our language, and the first sources [for it]. We will also talk about Dr. Max Weinreich's theory which has been accepted by most researchers, and about his role in editing Max Weinreich's translated book "History of the Yiddish Language".

Dr. Paul (Hershl) Glasser was born in 1957 in Brooklyn, New York. He is an eminent Yiddish linguist, teacher and translator, and the co-editor of the Comprehensive English-Yiddish Dictionary. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the League for Yiddish and a long-time activist for Yiddish.
