Mendy Cahan is the founder and director of YUNG YIDISH, a Yiddish organization in Israel since 1990. Mendy is an actor, and has performed in countless Yiddish works over the past 30 years, in theater, film and television programs. Mendy is also a singer, and has founded a Yiddish band "Der Yiddish-Express" which has released a CD called "Yiddish Fever." He has written poetry for various Yiddish magazines. Over the years, he has built and taught courses on Yiddish, Yiddish literature, history, badkhones and more, in various Yiddish institutions such as the California Yiddish Institute, the Yiddish summer programs in Weimar, Tel Aviv University, University College London - UCL, and Vilnius University. |
