מענדי כּהנא איז דער אויפֿשטעלער און דירעקטאָר פֿון „יונג־ייִדיש“, אַ ייִדיש־אָרגאַניזאַציע אין ישׂראל זינט 0991. מענדי איז אויך אַן אַקטיאָר וואָס האָט געשפּילט 03 יאָר לאַנג אין אָן אַ שיעור ייִדישע שפּילן אין טעאַטער, פֿילם און טעלעוויזיע־פּראָגראַמען. מענדי איז אַ זינגער און האָט אויפֿגעשטעלט אַ ייִדיש־שפּראַכיקע קאַפּעליע „דער ייִדיש-עקספּרעס“ וואָס האָט אַרויסגעגעבן אַ קאָמפּאַקטדיסק מיטן נאָמען „ייִדיש־פֿיבער“. מענדי האָט געשריבן פּאָעזיע אין פֿאַרשידענע ייִדיש־זשורנאַלן. דורך די יאָרן האָט ער אויפֿגעבויט און געלערנט קורסן וועגן ייִדיש, ייִדישער ליטעראַטור, געשיכטע, בדחנות און נאָך, אין פֿארשידענע ייִדישע אינסטאַנצן ווי „קאַליפֿאָרניער ייִדיש־אינסטיטוט“, און אין די ייִדיש־זומער־פּראָגראַמען אין ווײַמאַר, תּל-אָבֿיבֿער אוניווערסיטעט, קאַלעדזש־אוניווערסיטעט לאָנדאָן (LCU), און אין ווילנער אוניווערסיטעט.

“Yiddish Today” is a series of video programs that present artists from around the world who are creating contemporary Yiddish culture.

Mendy Cahan is the founder and director of YUNG YIDISH, a Yiddish organization in Israel since 1990. Mendy is an actor, and has performed in countless Yiddish works over the past 30 years, in theater, film and television programs. Mendy is also a singer, and has founded a Yiddish band "Der Yiddish-Express" which has released a CD called "Yiddish Fever." He has written poetry for various Yiddish magazines. Over the years, he has built and taught courses on Yiddish, Yiddish literature, history, badkhones and more, in various Yiddish institutions such as the California Yiddish Institute, the Yiddish summer programs in Weimar, Tel Aviv University, University College London - UCL, and Vilnius University.
